« Maybe a lucky star, before I reach the point of no return. I took my phone and called the psychiatric emergency. I asked for an internment. I was admit at the Département Pôle Santé Mentale, Hôpital du Jura Bernois SA in Bellelay, Switzerland. I will spend two months between these walls.
It was a long struggle. Certainly the biggest and difficult fight of my life. It affected me, I left feathers and some songs there. »
« Between December 30th, 2019 and March 4th, 2020, I wrote, composed and recorded 19 songs in my hospital room with courtesy of medical staff. I recorded these songs with « what’s to hand », a guitar, a mic, a good software, noises of corridors, the squeaking floors, ambient sounds, and, my darkest and warmest thoughts… I will keep 13 songs to release an album, MY album, the therapeutic album at any point, my inner being. »
« The album is called Nowhere. Related with the nowhere outside and the nowhere inside, referring to emptiness and nothingness. The songs are about me, about love, about feeling of unease and destruction. It’s like a stripping of my personality.
I’ve never really asked myself, if I wanted to sing in french or english. The album contains 12 songs in english and 1 in french. Why in english ? because it’s the music I listen to. I used my road english, the one I used to speak, the one I understand. Of course, the french accent is present, but it looks so cool to me and cute… So I told myself, « let’s go ». I consider that is an artistic reasoning to use a language that is not ours, in order to strengthen the identity. »
« C’était un 30 décembre 2019. Plus rien n’existait, tout était sombre, vide, dehors, à l’intérieur de moi-même. Ce jour-là, j’ai voulu mettre fin à mes jours… »
« Sans doute une bonne étoile, avant de commettre l’irréparable, j’ai pris mon téléphone pour contacter les urgences psychiatriques. J’ai demandé mon internement dans un centre.

Ce fut un long combat. Certainement le combat le plus difficile de toute ma vie. J’en ai souffert, j’y ai laissé des plumes et des chansons. »
« Du 30 décembre 2019 au 4 mars 2020, 19 chansons ont été composées, écrites et enregistrées dans ma chambre d’hôpital, avec l’aimable autorisation du personnel médical. J’ai enregistré ces chansons avec les moyens du bord, une guitare, un micro, un bon logiciel musical, les bruits de couloirs, des planchers qui craquent, du souffle ambiant et mes pensées… sombres, joyeuses, quoi qu’elles puissent avoir été.
J’en retiendrai 13 chansons, afin d’en sortir un album, MON album, l’album thérapeutique en tout point, mon Moi. »
« L’album s’appelle Nowhere. En lien avec le nulle part extérieur et le nulle part intérieur, faisant référence au vide, au néant. Les chansons parlent de moi, d’amour, de mal être et de destruction. C’est une totale mise à nu de ma personnalité.
Je ne me suis à n’importe quel moment posé la question si j’allais chanter en français ou en anglais. L’album contient 12 morceaux en anglais et 1 en français. Pourquoi en anglais ? car la musique que j’écoute quotidiennement est généralement en cette langue. J’ai utilisé mon anglais de route celui que je parle, celui que je comprends à ma manière. Certes, l’accent french est présent, mais j’ai trouvé cela tellement cool et mignon que je me suis dit « let’s go ». Je trouve qu’il y a une démarche artistique à user d’une langue qui n’est pas la nôtre, cela permet de fortifier une identité.
